Thank You!

Over the years almost all my friends have had kids and I have luckily been able to hang out on the side lines and get to watch. Now it's my turn. Yikes! Everyday I think about what it is going to be like to be a parent. Tim and I can't wait. We both have had great examples. Our parents are great. But we have learned a lot from all of our friends. Just from watching you and your kids, Tim and I have learned so much. We now know what to do when your kids won't share, they won't get ready, they won't get in the car, they won't listen, and of course when they won't go to bed! LOL. Half of my "Dream Team" is in Bend but it's nothing a little phone call won't help! If you can hear me over the crying baby in the background. LOL ( P.S. Dream Team, I can't come up cause Tim and I might be packing to move, but Tim is planning on coming up when the the baby is about 2 months old. I can't wait to see you all I miss you so much, Love you Meg, Kate, and Gena!) Anyway I know that some of you have read some really good parenting books so if there are any that you can suggest, I need all the help I can get! And thank you for being such great examples.

THANKS AUNTIE

If you like Bugaboo but you don't want to spend a 1,000 bucks on a stroller these are great!

I would have fought somebody for it!

I've been telling Tim for the past 3 years how much I love The Muppet Christmas Carol. So this year I told Tim I wanted the dvd for Christmas. I looked online and found it at Best Buy. So today we went to see if we could get a copy. By the way I have looked every where for it. So when we got there we looked all over and couldn't find it. I asked Tim please ask someone who works here, PLEEAASSEE! The employee told us there was a table up front with all the Christmas dvds but he told Tim "I doubt you will find a copy. I really doubt it." We walked up to a 6 foot table loaded with dvds. Tim told me "I'll take one side, you take the other half." We went through them and no luck. Then Tim came to my side and said " Babe here it is, I found it!" We looked through the table one more time and it was the last copy. My husband is the coolest!

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

To go or not to go that is the question...

How What When and Who.....is going to Oregon. I still really want to go but I need some info from the girls that are going. How is everyone getting there? When are we leaving and where from? And who is going for sure? I'm praying about going the only problem is that I might have to leave after everyone goes up to Oregon and either leave early or come back by myself. I have a doctor appt. that I can't miss. It's on the 6th. I could try to get in early but their office is closed for the holidays so......Girls let me know!

My beautiful sister! By Tim

Tim and I are blessed!

First I could never express how much it means to Tim and I to have such great friends in our lives. We love you so very much and since we think you all are about the best people on the face of the earth I hope you all won't mind being Aunts and Uncles!! I have to make up for my side since I don't have any brothers or sisters. LOL Again Thank you for all your love and support.

Baby Carr Matthew James? or Annalee Summer?

Ok so it's out!!

Tim and I are 3 months pregnant, or there abouts. We went in today to have our first ultra-sound and we thought we were about 10 weeks but the Dr. told us he thought I was about 12 weeks. So our due date was July 3rd (Yea Kate) or a few weeks before that. I'm still totally in shock and we have known since October 25. I couldn't ask the Lord for anything more. We are just praying for a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy. We want to thank everyone who has prayed over the last 4 years. Keep Praying! And Praise God

Pearl S. Buck

I started to read Imperial Women. And like always I wanted to know more about the author. So here is what I found....... Pearl S. Buck House, set on 60 acres of good earth in Bucks County, the 19th-century Green Hills Farm is a monument to the woman who made it home for 40 years: Pearl Buck. Here, Buck wrote nearly 100 novels, children’s books and works of nonfiction while raising seven adopted children and caring for many others. The author is most famous for The Good Earth, her classic 1931 novel about peasant life in China.

The house, its furnishings and surroundings reflect the symbiosis between the two hemispheres: Asian artifacts sit next to Pennsylvania country furniture. While it seems like an odd contrast, it works well, especially when you take in the story of Buck and her work for humanitarian rights and children’s issues, both in Asia and America.

History

Pearl Buck, the daughter of missionaries, moved to Green Hills Farm in 1934, after spending most of her 42 years in China. She chose Bucks County to be closer to her profoundly retarded daughter, whom she had placed in a home in nearby New Jersey. She lived and wrote here until she died in 1973. Pulitzer Prize for the Novel (1932) Nobel Prize in Literature (1938)

Books That Have Shaped The World by Fred Eastman

I found this small book in the book fundraiser bin at work. I spent the two dollars to take this awesome book home. The library card that was still in it shows it was last checked out of the South Pasadena Public Library September 3, 1952. What this book holds is a treasury of writers and playwrights and truly the best works of all time. Now some of the writers I love didn't make it in this book since it was published in 1937, but I did find this; written by Mrs. Charles Kingsley about her husband in his biography.

To the beloved memory of a righteous man.

Who loved God and Truth above all things. A man of untarnished honor. Loyal and chivalrous, gentle and strong. Modest and humble, tender and true. Pitiful to the weak, yearning after the erring. Stern to all forms of wrong and oppression. Yet most stern towards himself. Who being angry, yet sinned not. Whose highest virtues were known only. To his wife, his children, his servants and the poor. Who lived in the presence of God here, And passing through the grave and the gate of death. Now liveth unto God for evermore.

Charles Kingsley 1819-1875
